Maureen O’Connor Eibeler

My name is Maureen O’Connor Eibeler and I am a nomadic artist. My career in design began when I was a fashion-obsessed teen, stomping my way out of my Long Island womb in Doc Martens and vintage Chanel. I set up shop in the Georgian city Savannah, where I pursued fashion design at SCAD. Soon tiring of sweet tea and fried chicken, I transferred to Fordham University to immerse myself in the Manhattan hustle and uncovered a passion for large-format photography. An elective class in graphic design piqued my interest and introduced the greats—Stefan Sagmeister, Paul Rand, Louise Filli and Saul Bass. I began a design internship with RDA International, Inc., eager to learn the basics, but was soon overwhelmed by an insatiable wanderlust .
I was inspired noon and night by visions of the Parthenon, the sound of Big Ben, and the sun glimmering over the Rhineland. Through sheer determination, I managed to fight my want to flee until the school year ended, upon which I boarded a plane and flew directly into the Old World. I immersed myself in local cultures, becoming positively intoxicated with architecture, foreign language, and art. As soon as I set foot back on American soil, my thirst for the unknown slated, my passion for design recurred with a vengeance. With the same unbridled force that guided my earlier conquests, I resumed my internship with RDA, and began an intensive design program at Pratt Institute. Upon leaving Pratt, I was hired as a full-time designer at RDA, working on several prestigious clients, including Aloft and Element Hotels, Aquaphor, Nivea and Eucerin.
My work is an interwoven tapestry of experience and perspective, multifaceted and globally inspired. Ever-hungry for the next great idea, I will go to great lengths to produce my best work, whether it takes me to the end of the block or the end of the world.
Below are posts of some of my work from my professional career and life. There are 3 to 4 pages so be sure to hit next in order to see it all!
